Happy 1st birthday

Happy 1st birthday to our Victoria Centre Market Equipment and Advice Centre, which has been providing advice and offering the latest equipment and other visual aids from its convenient location in the heart of Nottingham for exactly one year today!

Our busy centre has offered advice, support and equipment to over 1,800 people since it was set up and of these 1,100 have been new contacts, which is great news because it means our accessible venue has enabled us to reach out to greater numbers of visually impaired people, their families and friends than ever before.

Our most popular purchases have been bumpons, pens and magnifiers and in the last 12 months, we've bought in several new items including new magnifiers, pill organisers, new eye shields, the Nimble Finger craft cutter and much much more.

Visually impaired customer-turned-shop volunteer, Mark Whittle, said: "When you're visually impaired it's essential that you find out about the latest aids and equipment, because they're designed to make life with sight loss easier. The My Sight Notts shop is located in the Victoria Centre Market, which means it's really accessible for people with visual impairments so I'm not at all suprised it's been such a huge success because it's offering a great service in a great central location."
