Join Walkie Talkie Wollaton next Weds 9 Aug 10:30am

Join our next Walkie Talking Wednesday gentre stroll around Wollaton Hall Park to enjoy nature, wildlife and Elizabethan architecture at its finest before retiring to the cafe for tea and cake!

Stunning Wollaton Hall Park

Wollaton Hall is an Elizabethan mansion set in its own deer park. Our gentle stroll begins at the main Wollaton Road entrance from where we'll take a gentle walk up towards the Hall, turn off towards the lake, round the lake before heading back to the cafe for welcome refreshments.

Gentle one and three quarter mile walk

Like all our Walkie Talkie Wednesday routes, the walk around Wollaton Hall Park is on good quality paths, partly over grass, and which slopes upwards towards the Hall.  It's about 1 and three quarter miles and for anyone who wants to extend the walk, we can walk behind the Hall through the formal garden, and then go back to the entrance via a longer path.

Sighted guides will help you get the most from your walk

Our Walkie Talkie gentle walks take place twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesday's of each month at 10:30am and last approximately one-and-a-half hours. We're lucky to have the support of two experienced volunteer walk leaders and they'll be assisted by our staff who are expert sighted guides. Walks are absolutely free, unless the venue requires transport when there may be a small charge and guide dogs are very welcome!

Getting there

The number 30 NCT bus (pink line) gets you to the main entrance on Wollaton Road. You get off at the Wollaton Hall stop. The main car park is just inside. So we will meet people at the stop or at the car park depending how they arrive. There are toilets near the entrance.

If you would like to come along on our next walk, please call Kirsty Allen or Angela Phillips on 0115 9706 806 in advance to book onto the walk.
