'My Sound' at Rough Trade, 28th October

We're incredibly excited to pair up with Rough Trade Nottingham to host the first My Sound night, featuring some of the brightest talents of the ever strengthening Nottingham music scene.

The bill will be headed up by Luxury Stranger, with support from In Isolation and Joseph Knight.

Tickets £7 available from Rough Trade or My Sight Shop Hockley (10-12 Carlton Street) with all proceeds going to support My Sight Nottinghamshire and the visually impaired children and adults they support across the county.

Luxury Stranger

Luxury Stranger return with their eagerly anticipated third album 'Darkness Falls Upon the Light" later this year.

"Drawing on the darkness of post-punk and cold wave, the theatre of 70s glam (Bowie/Eno/Reed/Pop), the commerciality of 80s and 90s UK indie and the rough edge power of 90s American 'grunge', Luxury Stranger is a cross-genre kind of band - creating music that can be appreciated by most music lovers and not easily put into a box.

Luxury Stranger is considered to be artistically 'Jekyll and Hyde' - a methodical architect in the studio and a passionate powerful monster on the stage."

In Isolation

"In Isolation are influenced by the more underground post-punk sounds of the 80s plus overground New Wave artists of that era. Adding influences from the angled Indie sounds of the Noughties and post-Noughties, the band creates a sound your ears may very well want to get into bed with."

They released their debut album 'A Certain Fractal Light' earlier this year, with fans of Editors, Bloc Party, The Cure, Roxy Music and David Bowie recommended the band's nostalgic yet modern sound.

Joseph Knight

"A young singer/songwriter who at the tender age of 16 Joseph has already established himself, playing at Nottingham's Hockley Hustle festival two years running, Y NOT Festival and gigging extensively throughout the East Midlands. He released his debut single in 2015 which was well received, including a successful headline show at Rough Trade Nottingham."

“Proper soulful acoustic stylings… Joseph certainly stands out from the rest”
Sam Nahirny, NUSIC.
