We provide a range of leisure activities for all tastes and abilities, which have a focus on keeping you fit and active!
We run our very own walking for health sessions, join us for our Walkie Talkie Wednesdays for a gentle walk in the great outdoors! Each walk is typically 2 to 3 miles on easy terrain, mainly flat routes around country parks, lakes and nature reserves. These are ideal for beginner walkers and open to all ages and abilities, who want to get out of the house for a gentle walk, meet new people and exercise all at the same time.
We have two highly experienced volunteer walk leaders, Mary and Ian who will take it in turns to lead the
walks with support from our Sports Officer Kirsty. However, the more help we can get with sighted guiding the better, so if you would like to volunteer with these sessions or bring family and friends along please do and
let us know in advance. Guide dogs are also welcome on our walks.
Our walks are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Walks start from 10:30am for approximately an hour and a half. After the walk, there is the opportunity to enjoy refreshments with others in the group at a local cafe or pub. Our walks are free unless we need to put on transport in the future and then we will ask for a contribution towards this. Toilet facilities, disabled access and parking will all be considered for each walk.

Weekly Tuesday Gym and Swim sessions take place at a leisure centre local to our city centre hub on Heathcoat Street. The sessions are open to all regardless of experience or current fitness levels. Staff and volunteers are on hand to work with you to put together a fun and enjoyable programme that is sure to get you to your target goals. Our rambling club is run by a group of dedicated and experienced volunteers. The club is always looking to attract more members, keen to experience the joys and benefits of rambling along some of the best walks available in the East Midlands. The volunteers offer support and guiding, however a good level of fitness is required as the routes vary in distance and difficulty. Appropriate clothing and footwear is essential for participating in the rambling.

In the past we have held a range of exciting new healthy life style taster sessions from self defence classes to chair based exercise to football coaching.
