Three sighted guides, four visually impaired people and their three guide dogs, Kizzy, Kiki and Kennedy had a great day out at the National Holocaust Memorial and Museum recently.
Heartfelt tribute to disabled victims of the holocaust
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tactile exhibition that showed one Jewish boys experience of going on the kinder transport. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious lunch before attending an informative talk by a lady who’s family had been killed in the holocaust. The group then went to the main exhibition about the rise of the Nazis before taking a moment to pay a special heartfelt tribute at the memorial dedicated to all the disabled victims of the holocaust.
A Fascinating day
Philip Simpson, said: “It was a fascinating day, the centre staff were brilliant attending not just to our needs but to our Guide Dogs too! We had a personal tour guide, which made the visit especially enjoyable.”
