The exhibition ‘history is a living weapon in yr hand’ is a new two-screen adaptation of Igwe’s dual timeline experimental film ‘A Radical Duet’ (2023). The film imagines what happened when two women of different generations, but both part of the post-war Pan-African independence movement, came together in London to put their fervour and imagination into writing a revolutionary play.

The tour will be a chance to handle some of the props and set design featured in the film, hear more about the approach to audio description and engage in a Q&A with the artist.

Please book a free space at tom.godfrey@ntu.ac.uk

And let Tom know any access needs. Attendees can be escorted from Nottingham train station ahead of the tour. Refreshments will be provided and a breakout space will be available afterwards for socialising till 3pm.
