Important information about services

We’re thrilled to announce the resumption of some of our face-to-face services from week beginning 19 April, and the launch of some exciting new services for visually impaired people across Notts.

Resumption of pre-booked face-to-face services

As lockdown restrictions ease, we’re once again inviting people to pre-book appointments for COVID-secure services.

  • Bookings are now being accepting for equipment and IT support.
  • Our IT group is restarting at Heathcoat Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20th April.

Shared Vision skills and support for people with sight loss

We are also accepting referrals for Shared Vision, our award-winning free peer support group.

The group offers local visually impaired people the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and to share experiences of sight loss and develop new coping strategies.

The facilitated group will create a safe space in which people can explore their feelings and learn new ways of doing things, that will help to make daily life easier for people living with sight loss. There will be lots of opportunities to find out about local and national organisations that can offer information and support.

The group is currently meeting online, and support is available to help people get online and access the group.

Telephone befriending

We are also seeking referrals for our popular telephone befriending service, which matches visually impaired people with one of our volunteer telephone befrienders for regular support and a chat. So if you or someone you know is feeling isolated at home and would like to chat to a friendly volunteer who understands about sight loss, please get in touch.
