Life-changing revolutionary new high-tech glasses that help blind people see the world for themselve

Our latest Tech Day took place on Friday 24 March  at our Equipment & Support Centre at the Victoria Centre market. At the event, local blind and vision impaired people gott the chance to try out the life-changing new high-tech OrCam spectacles that enable totally blind people see the world for themselves!

Bringing the world of sight to visually impaired people

The futuristic, light weight OrCam devise can be mounted on any glasses frame and is used to read text, identify products when out shopping and even recognise faces, bringing the precious world of sight to local visually impaired people.

Demonstrating the benefits

Local blind and partially sighted people excitedly booked up demonstration slots at the exciting event, which was organised by local sight loss charity, My Sight Notts and suppliers Sight and Sound Technology. With the support of charity staff, local people got the chance to wear the life-changing glasses and try out a spot of shopping in the busy Victoria Centre Market.
“It’s hard for people to appreciate how difficult life can be if you lose your eyesight,” explains 74-year old Stella Hodgson from Clifton. “I’ve been really looking forward to trying the new glasses since I heard they were being demonstrated in Nottingham, it will be truly amazing if they really do help me to appreciate the world around me again!”
