My Sight Newark launches in January
The New Year promises to get off to a great start for visually impaired people living in the Newark area, as we prepares to launch our new Lottery funded social group for blind and partially sighted people in the Newark area.
My Sight Newark
My Sight Newark will hold its first get-together on 17 January between 10am and 1:30pm at Knight’s Court, which is located conveniently on Knight’s Court Road in Newark. The new group is open to anyone in the Newark area who has a visual impairment, their families and friends.
My Sight Newark offers blind and partially sighted people the opportunity to meet together for mutual support. Activities will include pub lunches, day trips to local places of interest, quizzes, speakers on a diverse range of topics, craft workshops and advice on aids, equipment and technology.
Deputy Major welcomes My Sight Newark
The Deputy Major of Newark, Cllr Martyn Cleasby met with a group of local visually impaired people in December for a Mince Pie and Coffee Morning to find out more about the exciting new group ahead of its launch on 17th January. The Deputy Mayor welcomed the launch of My Sight Newark and wished it success for the future.
Danny Du Heaume, Hub Coordinator at My Sight Newark, said: “It was fantastic to see the Deputy Mayor of Newark and to hear his good wishes for our new venture, which we hope will become a vibrant social group for visually impaired people in Newark to enjoy!”
