Talking News

Our Talking News service brings the latest local Nottinghamshire news and updates from My Sight Notts directly to you in an easy-to-listen-to audio format.

What is Talking News?

Talking News is an audio news service for people with sight loss who prefer to listen rather than read. Every two weeks, you receive recorded news and information that helps you stay connected with what’s happening locally and within our organisation. It is also available to people who are unable to read printed text.

You can choose to receive the news in one of two ways: on a memory stick by post, or digitally by email.

How does it work?

By memory stick (posted):

  • Sent every two weeks in a bright yellow wallet

  • Simply listen, place it back in the wallet, turn over the address card, and post it back

  • No postage is required – items are sent under the Articles for the Blind scheme

By email (digital files):

  • Sent every two weeks directly to your inbox

  • Each email contains a link to that edition of the Talking News

You can choose either option.

Cost

The service costs £5 per year, which includes both the memory stick and digital versions.
