My Sight Notts is proud to announce that we have achieved the RNIB’s Visibly Better Employer quality standard. This award represents My Sight Notts’s commitment to employing people with sight loss and making sure every employee has equal access to opportunities and development.
It also represents our commitment to making job vacancies and application processes accessible to every person. The Visibly Better Employer quality standard also aims to increase the number of people with sight loss who apply for opportunities and enables us to confidently retain existing staff who develop sight loss.
This is something we have, and will always be, committed to doing at My sight Notts. Currently 50% of our front-line delivery staff and 50% of our trustees have some form of sight loss. 35% of our volunteers also have a visual impairment.
The RNIB hopes that many more companies and organisations will achieve this standard and have more of an awareness around sight loss. We constantly push for improving employer’s awareness around sight loss and enabling them to see how valuable people with sight loss are as part of the workforce.
