What we do

We are My Sight Nottinghamshire (formerly NRSB) and we are the only charity dedicated exclusively to improving the lives of people living with sight loss in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

We provide emotional support, practical advice, information and a broad range of adapted leisure opportunities to thousands of local blind and partially sighted people and their families.

Our History

Founded in 1843, My Sight Nottinghamshire is one of Nottinghamshire’s oldest charities and
one of the oldest UK societies for visually impaired people – older even than RNIB!

Our Vision And Mission

Our Vision is for Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County to be fully accessible to visually impaired people and recognised as an area where visually impaired people have the same life opportunities as everyone else.

Service User Involvement

The team is made up of 11 blind and partially sighted men and women of all ages who live in both urban and rural communities across Nottinghamshire. Each member of the team has at some time accessed one or more of the services we provide.

Membership

All blind and partially sighted people living in Nottingham city, or Nottinghamshire county are automatically a free member of My Sight Notts. This broad approach to membership helps to ensure that we remain truly representative of the people we service.
