Works For Me is our new employment service that we are delivering in partnership with Thomas Pocklington Trust. This is a new service for the charity and it hopes to change the statistic of people with sight loss not in employment and to help get people work ready and in employment. The Works For Me employment service at My Sight Notts will offer the following services and events:
- CV help and advice (reviewing CVs, CV help guide, ‘CV Builder’ event days)
- Help with job searching & alerts
- Cover letter support (how to guide, 1:1 support, reviewing cover letters)
- Help and support with job applications
- ‘Unlocking and using your skills for employment’ activities & guide
- Interview preparation (mock interviews, 1:1 interview support, interview preparation guide and advice)
- Access to Work help for service users and employers
- Advice for local training providers & volunteering opportunities
- Links to other advice service providers in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire
- Support if you’re in work but are looking for a career change
- Supporting you to be able to stay in work
- Event days- CV Builder Day, Making Work Accessible (aimed at employers), Interview Preparation Day.
